We can’t quite believe It has been nearly a year since we were forced to close our doors to face to face dating events! The Coronavirus pandemic has been particaurly devastating for our business and the entire hospitality industry as a whole, with pubs closed, nightclubs a thing of the past and social distancing a part of our everyday lives.
Back in March 2020 when COVID forced the UK to shut down we had to quickly adapt our business model to cater for this new way of life. We were the first company to launch Virtual Speed Dating in the UK and to this day we have hosted over 250 events with more than 5,000 people attending.
The response to our new online platform has been fantastic with many of you preferring the virtual alternative to the real thing. Whilst we don’t quite agree, it has been a lifeline for us and allowed us to keep the business ticking over.
The last 12 months have been incredibly difficult for DateinaDash with a 75% downturn in business and at one point it was touch and go as to whether we would survive. Thankfully, our loyal customer base rallied behind us and we managed to crowdfund over £6,000 to help support us.
So now for the good news, with the Government recently announcing their roadmap for unlocking the country we are able to announce our return to live dating events. Hooray!
We are overly excited to announce the ‘DateinaDash Roadmap For Returning To Live Events’.
Step one - our first event(s) back will be a series of outdoor socially distanced Speed Dating events in parks across London starting with a Picnic Speed Dating event on Saturday 3rd April in Clapham Common for ages 23-35. For information and to book tickets for this event click here.
Step two - the second stage of our return will be starting on Saturday 17th April when we host our first Takeaway Singles Pub Crawl. Much like the Pub Crawl’s of old, these unique events will take in some of London’s sights and beer gardens. Completely socially distanced and adhering to the ‘Rule of Six’.
Step three - Finally we will resume our indoor Speed Dating events without ANY social distancing or capacity restrictions from Tuesday 22nd June with the first event being scheduled to take place at 100 Wardour St, Soho for ages 24-36. We expect this event to be EXTREMLEY busy so book now to avoid disappointment.
Of course, these dates might be subject to change, but we are very hopeful for them.
We are SO excited to return to doing what we do best, organizing the best Speed Dating events in London. We will be launching several new venues and expanding into new cities later this year but check back for more information on this in a future blog post.
