The secret to attraction: a spine-chilling horror movie experience! Its just science.
According to an awesome study into the science of fear, it has been confirmed that feeling afraid can trigger the same emotions as we feel when we really fancy somebody. That is why taking a first date to a horror movie is an absolute classic! But whats in it for everyone you might just ask?
First and foremost, guys get to be all brave and protective whilst the ladies curl up into tiny little balls or the other way round! Yep we will admit it- theres no shame in watching a horror movie from behind the cushions guys so panic not! Either way the result is the same: fear heightens the senses and increases attractiveness and attraction! In a nutshell, its all to do with sex hormones and Oxytocin which generate feelings of desire, but also of alertness and fear very deep.

JIGSAW
With its release just around the corner, what better way to start the Halloween season than by watching the latest Saw film. For those die hard Saw films, Jigsaw is back. Well kind of. The trailer dropped earlier this month, giving us our first glimpse at the horror that is to unfold in the eighth film in the Saw franchise. With new, tried and tested death traps, a wealth of likeable people (with dark and unsavoury backgrounds) and a killer plot, they are all itching to get out of, Jigsaw is a must watch horror film this Halloween. Oh, one thing to remember- this film isnt for the squeamish so have a long, hard think about WHO you take with you. Guaranteed to have you jumping out of your seat, Jigsaw is set to be a top hit with singles all across London and the wider area. The Snowman
The Snowman
A pure pulp thriller material, and theres nothing wrong with that. Seemingly triggered by snowfall, a serial killer is kidnapping women across Norways cities, leaving their dismembered bodies to be found lying face down in a drift several days later. The killers calling card: a snowman in the victims front garden- usually oriented to face the house. To crack the case, the lead character- Hole joins forces with new recruit Katrine Bratt and the story unfolds. Now if you are after a less gruesome horror and more of a thriller, this film could tick all of the boxes. Not a die-hard horror extravaganza, The Snowman could be just the ticket if you are off for a new date and dont want to scare them half to death.
IT
Another recent 2017 release, the Stephen King adaptation of It is a classic remade. A collection of alternately terrifying, hallucinatory, and ludicrous nightmare imagery, It mixes haunted house horror with nostalgic hangout humour and gruesome child murders. Not for the feint hearted, this film strikes a clever balance between atmosphere, scares and nostalgia as Pennywise the clown, like all best horror baddies, knows exactly what you fear the most. So hang tight, pipe down and keep your cool as It is just around every corner, and hes waiting for you!
The Babadook
Kicking back to 2014, if you would rather stay in and watch horror movies in the comfort of your own home, the Babadook is a nerve-frying psychological thriller which will have you climbing the walls in fear. Troubled widow, Essie Davis discovers that her son is telling the truth about a monster that entered their home through the pages of a children's book and the rest is history. So, if you get off on watching things go bump in the night (and who doesn't?) then The Babadook is the scarefest for you and your new love interest. Go on, we dare you!
The Shining
Flip back to the good old 80s and youll find the release of The Shining, one of the best creepy and psychological thrillers of recent times. Now we arent saying this film is a good old fashioned horror film but there is definitely a few scenes that someone who is sensitive to horror films, might say who truly scary.
Of course, it would be rude to ruin the show for those who havent since this classic before so we wont offer up any spoilers. And yes, compared to the stuff we see in horror today, this is on a different wavelength but one thing is for sure- the plot is a winner! Jack Torrance played by Jack Nicholson becomes winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer's block. He settles in along with his wife, Wendy and his son, Danny, who is plagued by psychic premonitions. But youll have to watch the film to find out what happens next....watch out ladies and gents.
And there you have it, 5 top horror films to get the pulses racing and hearts a thumping this Halloween.
