Introducing the Open Mic Singles Event – an evening where singles can share their most amusing, embarrassing, and memorable dating stories. Hosted by Dateinadash founder, Rob Ryall, and things he’s seen, heard and been a part of over the last decade and more, these evenings are about getting to know other singles through your experiences. But don’t panic, the stories shared don’t even need to be disastrous and there’s no expectation for anyone to get up on stage if you don’t fancy it.

Why are we putting on an Open Mic for Singles?

In the world of swipes, ghosting, and quirky first dates, everyone's got a story or two up their sleeve. Us included! This unique event, that’s really taken off, isn't just about recounting bad dates. It's also about finding humour in the unpredictable world of dating and celebrating the resilience and humour of single folks in our wonderful capital and everywhere!

The Format of our London Comedy Open Mic for Singles

Similar to a traditional open mic night, our comedy open mic event but for singles! With around 60 singles (equal numbers of men and women) at the singles event, you will have the chance to mingle, chat and flirt after the event at the bar and enjoy the fantastic live music at this top London venue.

But before that, everyone in attendance is invited to share one or more stories, make it a stand-up routine, or even spin a poetic tale of their dating life!

The event lasts for two hours and is just £15 a ticket; they will sell out FAST so don’t delay! Like what you hear? Head over to the Piano Works in Leicester Square on the first Wednesday of the month, promising an evening of unpredictable humour.

Whether you've been on countless dates or just a handful, everyone has a unique perspective on the dating world. From the quintessential blind date gone wrong to that unexpected romantic gesture that left you in stitches, all tales are welcome here. The more diverse our stories, the richer the tapestry of laughs!

Advice for our gorgeous participants

Be Authentic: The best stories come from a place of truth. While it's fine to exaggerate for comedic effect, your story should be rooted in a real dating experience!

Respect Privacy: While sharing your stories, ensure you don't reveal personal details about your date that might identify them, especially if the story isn't flattering.

It's All in Good Fun: Remember, this is a comedy open mic event. It's all about finding the fun in situations even if they aren’t funny. We’d say to approach your story with a light heart and good intentions.
